Roger Bilstein

Dr. Roger E. Bilstein is Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a suburban, upper-division campus for juniors, seniors, and master’s level students where he taught courses in twentieth century American history, technology, and foreign relations, as well as aviation and aerospace history. He has written numerous articles and essays on aerospace history that have appeared in scholarly journals and reference works published in America and overseas.

He is also the author or co-author of eight books, including Flight in America: From the Wrights to the Astronauts, and The American Aerospace Industry: From Workshop to Global Enterprise. The latter was cited by the American Library Association as one of the outstanding academic books of 1997. Dr. Bilstein has served as consultant/guest curator for aviation history exhibits at several museums in the United States.
